TIMELINE FOR CAMBRIDGE SPECIAL TOWN MEETING 2021
Mar 16, 2021: At a properly warned Cambridge Select Board meeting, the Board voted to call a special town meeting for the election noted above. The election will be by australian ballot in accordance with the provisions of Act 162.
Mar 17, 2021: Initial Posting of information for Special Town Meeting, including listing of elected position. Consent Form posted. Requirement: Must be a registered voter in Cambridge
Mar 17, 2021: First day to request early voting ballot by mail.
Apr 1, 2021: First day to post Warning for Special Town Meeting
Apr 5, 2021: Last day for candidates to submit consent form (17 V.S.A §2681 (a)) to the Town Clerk by 5PM. Petitions not required for this election.
April 6, 2021: 1) Town Clerk to verify that proposed candidates are eligible to stand for election.
2) Last day for candidates to withdraw as a candidate for special town meeting.
Apr 7, 2021: Ballots available for distribution, including all outgoing and return envelopes. Mailed out based on voter request.
Since we are using Australian ballot for vote, candidate elections will be decided by a plurality.
A majority vote is not required.
Apr 11, 2021: Last day to post Warning for Special Town Meeting
April 21, 2021: 7pm - Meet the Candidates night for announced candidates to address the public and answer questions via Zoom

Polls Open Tuesday May 11, 2021 - 7AM-7PM - Cambridge Elementary School Gymnasium
Early voting ballots can be returned to our drop box at the top of the stairs in the Town Office building, by mail, or at the polling place on Election Day. Polls will be open on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 7AM—7PM at the Cambridge School Gymnasium for in-person voting.
